Dog License Information
All dogs in Gladwin County must have a current rabies certificate and be licensed. Licenses must be renewed annually. Dog licenses may be purchased at regular price at the Animal Shelter, in the Treasurer’s office, and at participating township and city offices from November 1st until the end of February. As of March 1st tags are available only from the Animal Shelter and Treasurer’s office, and are delinquent, subject to the delinquent tag fee (except for puppies which may be licensed at the regular fee.) You must present a current rabies certificate to purchase any dog license. All puppies / dogs 4 months of age and older must be licensed.
After Hours Policy
Due to the reduction in staff at the Gladwin County Animal Control Department the after hours emergency coverage by this department will change effective March 1, 2010 as follows:
1. Only complaints that involve a person being attacked or bitten
2. Assistance to Law Enforcement, EMS and Fire Departments
3. All other calls will be handled during regular business hours

Pet Adoption Information
Pets are available at the shelter for adoption. The shelter is open to view animals between 9:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Information about pets currently available for adoption at Gladwin Animal Shelter is available on our Facebook page – facebook.com/gladwinanimalshelter and are listed under photos and then in the folder named Available.
