Property Tax Dates and Timeline
2022 Property Tax Timeline
- September 14, 2022
- Summer 2022 Property Taxes due to the local cities and townships
- After this date, 1% interest is added each month until paid in full or turned over to the County in March.
- February 14, 2023
- Winter 2022 Property Taxes due to the local cities and townships
- March 1, 2023
- Unpaid 2022 Property taxes become “delinquent” (turned over from local cities and townships) and payable to GladwinCounty Treasurer.
- 4% administration fee & 1% interest is added
- 1% interest added on 1st day of every month based on base tax
- October 3, 2023
- $15 Certified mailing fee added
- March 1, 2024 – FORFEITURE
- $235 Forfeiture fee. Interest increased to 1.5%, retroactive back to original date of delinquency.
- May 1, 2024
- $50 Personal Visit fee added
- November 1, 2024
- $50 Publication fee added for insert in Gladwin County Record.
- March 31, 2025
- Final payment date to avoid foreclosure.
- ALL REDEMPTION RIGHTS EXPIRE AT END OF BUSINESS DAY!
- April 1, 2025 – FORECLOSURE
- Title passes to Gladwin County FGU for unpaid 2022 taxes.
- FORECLOSURE IS FINAL!!
